Deaths in Gaza raise to 23; Exiled Hamas leader Khalid Meshaal comments

Al-Jazeera is now labeling Israeli’s Tuesday strikes against both civilians and fighters in Gaza a massacre (mujezera) with a death toll of 23. Hamas political president Khalid Meshaal, who is living in exile in Damascus, blamed Bush for providing cover to Israel for the strikes in Gaza. He said that America has made the attacks a part of their so-called war on terrorism and they have sought to fashion the Resistance as terrorists. Meshaal said that now, after the massacre, there will be no truce or prisoner exchange with Israel. He called on the Palestinian Authority (including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas) to stop “frivolous” negotiations with the Occupation.
The above image is something like Hamas’s coat of arms. Hamas is an acronym, meaning zeal, for harakat al-muqawama al-islamiyya (Islamic Resistance Party).
